Maturing the Saints ~ Part 4
24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. 25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. 26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. 27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
We are never alone when we are facing the storms of life. As Jesus promises never to leave us nor forsake us. After all, he is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother and sister. In the midst of all life’s storms, we must remain focused on the presence of Jesus with us.
In the midst of life’s storms, Jesus offers us protection: when we are confronted by storms we must run to Jesus who is our shelter in times of trouble. Jesus is our refuge , our hiding place, in him we find safety and comfort. Many are placing their hope for protection in so many temporal things, but Jesus offers us a protection that is both sure and eternal.
In the midst of life, Jesus offers us peace. Jesus offers to us a peace that passeth all understanding. Jesus offers to us a peace which allows us to still smile while we go through the storms of life. Jesus offers to us a peace that allows us to still praise God inspite of what we are going through.
