The Spring Gardens After-school Assistance Program, is a project initiated by the Daughters of Lydia Organization of the Spring Gardens Moravian Church. The program is designed to supervise children’s homework in the absence of working parents. The program fosters an environment that is structured, safe and disciplined, so that children will develop positive study habits which will enhance learning.
Sessions run from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, Mondays through Fridays with a fee of $40.00 per week. The personnel is comprised of a Supervisor and two (2) staff members. The program caters for children in the age range of 5 – 12 years. Presently there are children from various primary schools in the community enrolled in the program. Parents who are still at work can depend on the providers to ensure homework is completed. So when children are collected there is ample time for family moments.
